So that you know, these are the things we are doing everyday at Wares to play our part in saving the planet:
- Wares is pleased to be a member of SEDEX
- Unlike other packaging companies we don't sell plastic.
- We buy as much glass as we can from U.K factories and where that isn't possible, from Europe. Sometimes we bring glass in from China and India, but only from companies that we have visited and we know to be ethical and high quality. We use sea freight and consolidate loads to save CO2.
- All of our glass recycled glass within it and of course can be recycled over and over without any loss of quality.
- We buy in large quantities to reduce the CO2 of hundreds of deliveries
- We collect cardboard from neighbouring businesses and shred it to provide ourselves with void fill for our orders. This way we have eliminated all plastic from our shipped orders.
- We reuse all the boxes that come into the building to re-ship orders, or we shred them.
- All of our commercial waste is sorted and sent for recycling this includes the plastic pallet wrap that pallets come in from the factories.
- We use compostable pallet wrap for small pallets.
- We only use fully compostable bags for all our lids, caps and corks sent out with all our orders
- We only use eco sound cleaning products and toilet roll!
- We offer our customers credit accounts so they can buy in volume, even when they are small or new companies.
We do what we can and we encourage our customers to do the same.
