Ideas for wedding favours
The beauty of Christmas-styled wedding favours is that you can go all out with colour, sparkle, glitz and ritz - if you so wish for the holiday season, or keep it chic, neutral and natural to embrace a sense of hygge and Scandi chic. These ideas might give you some inspiration:
Lavish hampers
Why not get really creative and make your own festive thank-you hampers? You'll find a great range of wicker baskets and coloured paper shreds on sale at Wares, together with beautiful gift tags and bows for perfect presentation. You could make your own chutneys, fill small glass jars with flavoured and marinaded olives, present chocolate bon-bons and truffles in glass jars (flavoured with rum for the holiday) or even mix up a sweet holiday spice for those Christmas cookies and present it in a small bottle. If you have a sewing machine, use fabric squares, rice and lavender oil to make up little reusable hand-warmer pouches that can warm in the microwave. (Here's a great tutorial: https://themummyfront.com/diy-hand-warmers/) Use your imagination and personalise your hamper contents for something truly lovely. Don't forget to cover it in lavish bows!
Christmas-themed candles
Why not stock up on small glass jars and make your own soy wax candles? Scent them with festive holiday scents such as fir or pine needle, cinnamon, nutmeg and sweet orange, using essential or fragrance oils. You could sprinkle the top with biodegradable glitter, add tags and perhaps gift them individually at each guest's table with a thank you message, or gift in a trio of different scents.
Christmas whisky
A miniature 50ml glass bottle filled with fine malt and topped with a personalised label is a surefire way to warm your guests' hearts! Fill small bottles with alternative drinks that guests might prefer, such as Baileys, coffee liqueur, port or gin - and perhaps stack them high and invite guests to take their pick!
A themed glass snowglobe
You can buy glass snowglobes that you fill with your own motifs and decorations. A small glistening gold fir tree, some snowflakes and biodegradable glitter can look wonderful. Gift them in one of our decorative boxes or bags for a sweet touch for the Christmas tree.
Sparklers in a jar
Fill mini glass jars with a selection of miniature gold and silver sparklers and invite your guests to join you outside for a wedding toast with plenty of colour and glitter!
Gold coins
Children will love wide-brimmed jars filled with chocolate coins or foil-wrapped sweets and treats on your wedding table. These larger glasses and vases also work very well to hold pretty evergreen branches, and you can fill jars with gold-sprayed pine cones for a beautiful, natural decoration that looks even more enticing with strands of battery-operated LEDs woven throughout.
Mason jar posies
Spray Mason jars with white paint and then fill them with gorgeous white roses, dark green foliage, holly, Narcissus Paperwhite, orchids and perhaps a flash of deep red roses. These couldn't look more festive and they lend themselves perfectly to your own creative touches.
Hot chocolate Mason drinking jars
Stock up on glass drinking jars and use them to serve hot chocolate (hard or soft) with generous dollops of whipped cream on top for your outdoor speeches and any fireworks. Kids will love these thoughtful touches, which also provide a nice and indulgent alternative to the bar for those who might be driving!
