Halloween is coming around fast, and our customers are stocking up on their Halloween glass jars now for trick-and-treaters, Halloween bakes and recipes, Halloween glass jar tealights and other crafty projects to celebrate the occasion!
Whether you're looking to have colourful sweets in glass jars ready for a family gathering or make a spooky punch to serve in Mason jars, we've got all the glassware you need for Halloween at Wares. Let's take a closer look at some of the ways you can use glass jars and bottles for those Halloween parties - saving money, avoiding plastic and protecting the environment by choosing reusable, beautiful and non-polluting glassware in your home.
Ways to Use Halloween Glass Jars
Halloween is a great excuse for a party, especially if you don't fancy the idea of going outdoors in the cold to trick or treat - or don't have children of the right age to justify the activity! Even better, it's perfectly easy to create a spooky Halloween vibe at home by making your own decorations, and you don't need to buy anything expensive to make the right atmosphere. Here are some ideas that make use of one of our top-selling glassware staples - glass jars, which are versatile enough to be used for decorations, food or even gifting.
Halloween tea lights
Use black craft paper to cut out spooky motifs and affix your handiwork to glass jars with glue. Simply add a small battery-operated tealight to each mini jar, and you've got fantastic, safe tealights that can be dotted around the house for a flickering glow, or along the path to welcome visitors.
Halloween sweet jars
Nothing looks better than glass confectionary jars filled with Halloween-ready sweets. These angled styles come in packs with screw top lids, and they look great lined up with sweets in glass jars grouped by flavour or colour.
Alternatively, check out our traditional confectionary style glass jars with clear glass lids, perfect for lining up for party favours at your Halloween do, perhaps with scoops and paper bags for the kids to fill.
You'll find a full range of glass storage jars here too.
Halloween mini cake jars
This project is really fun, as kids can do it and decorate the finished results. The easiest way to make the cakes is to use a packet recipe and add food colouring to each mix to create your green, plain and orange characters. You'll then use food dye to make colourful icing and add sprinkles, googly eyes, gauze and Sharpies to decorate the mini glass jars into Mummies, pumpkin jack-o' lanterns and Frankenstein! Find the recipe here: https://lifemadesimplebakes.com/halloween-mason-jar-mini-cakes/.
Standard jam jars work well for these types of cakes, and they're very easy to reuse too.
Mason jar vases
Versatile Mason jars are great for spraying with gold and orange glitter to create ready vases for your dining table.
Glass jars for drinks
You can also use glass jars to serve Halloween drinks. There are some great Halloween punch recipes on BBC Good Food, including one that combines cherry juice with a chilli kick for blood-red, spicy deliciousness! Find it here: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/our-best-ever-halloween-punch-recipes.
A hot apple pie punch would also work well for a Halloween party. You can use cider, fresh apple slices, cinnamon, ginger and a splash of rum to create a wonderful flavour. Even better, why not top it with vanilla ice cream for a decadent treat that will double up as dessert?
Glass jars for Halloween cookie mixes
You can also use glass jam jars to layer up the dry ingredients for cookies, chocolate brownies or cakes - why not add orange Smarties, ghostly marshmallows or jellied pumpkins for an on-theme finish? Decorate your jars with orange, gold and green ribbons and skeleton-shaped labels with the instructions on, and layer the dry ingredients so that they are ready to tip into a bowl and mix.
