82mm Twist Off Vinegar Proof Jam Jar Lids

A pack of 82mm twist off replacement jam jar lids available in 5 different colours. The vinegar-proof lids are FSA approved, BPA free and suitable for home preserving or commercial use.

These twist lids are vinegar and acidic proof making them suitable for pickling and preserves such as chutney as well as jam, marmalade and relish.
Create an airtight seal when used with the correct glass jar.
The twist closure creates a vacuum seal which is airtight and liquid tight. Preventing leaks and prolonging shelf life.
An environmentally friendly way to reuse glass jars.

Helpful hand application tips

These lids can be applied by machine but they can also be hand applied. Please follow these care tips for successful application. For more in-depth information please read our blog post on lids.

Take care not to over tighten, a quarter of a turn will seal the lid.
Check the lid is not cross threaded.
Warmed lids work best, they can be heated to a maximum of 60°C
Apply the cap finger tight and then apply pressure for 1/4 of a turn.
When filling the jar leave approximately 10mm (5%) space from the rim in order to create the best vacuum and seal.

fit larger size preserve jars well, not 76mm as noted on different website

I'l use these 82mm lids to replace lids on occasional large size pickle jars which they fit well. They probably fit 2lb jam jars well; we don't tend to use or have these here. (We live in Spain).

Although a different website suggested they fit 76 mm rim size jars (these hold 350ml) which we use a lot here and can buy in local warehouses, they are too large.
The service provided by Wares was excellent though!
